<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><strong>Shading</strong></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"> Make a mix of 3:1 scorched brown/chaos black, and make it to about the same consistency as the wash you used on the armour. You can water it down a bit more and use it like a glaze if you’re having trouble getting a smooth colour. Use the shades like with the metal, trying to create alternating areas of light and shade. For example, in the second photo, I picked that the corner of the shoulder pad would be bright, and so I made the areas next to it dark, and I followed that pattern around the entire shoulderpad. As you can imagine, on the other side of the shoulderpad, the corner is bright again. As you can see in the other photo, the corner of the shoulderpad is dark, and so the middle is bright. This is really important to achieving that shiny effect.</div><br />

<br />
I play a night lords CSM army, and people often seem to be pretty interested in how I paint them, and so I thought it’d be a good idea to make a tutorial on them. This tutorial covers how to make a fully completed chaos marine in step-by-step.<br />
<div align="right">Martin</div><div align="right"><br />
</div><div align="right"><br />
</div><div align="right"><br />
</div><div align="left"></div><a name='more'></a><br />
These guys are relatively straightforward to paint. You don’t need to know any advanced techniques like salt weathering, or NMM, or airbrushing or anything, all you need is GW paints and be able to blend/glaze reasonably well.<br />
<br />
<b>What you will nee<i>d:</i></b><br />
GW paints: Regal blue, shadow grey, fiery orange, blood red, scorched brown, tallarn flesh, shining gold, boltgun metal, chainmail, mithril silver, skull white, dark flesh and devlan mud.<br />
AND a wet palette. This is really important because you need something to store large mixes of paint for a long period of time, and it just makes everything a million times easier. If you don’t use one, get one! Once you start using one you’ll never go back.<br />
<br />
<div align="center"><b>PAINTING</b><br />
</div><div align="left"><b>Part 1 - armour</b></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left"><br />
I start over a black undercoat.<br />
To paint the rusty blue armour of the night lords, start off with a basecoat mix of 7:1:1 regal blue/black/shadow grey. Make sure to mix up a lot of this on your wet palette, because you’ll be using it a lot. If you’re thinking of making a lot of these guys, I’d make a big batch of this in a mixing pot. Here’s a photo of what it should look like: it’s on the right, and there’s regal blue on the left just for comparison. Apply a good solid basecoat. 2 layers should be enough.</div><div align="left"><br />

With this, have the paint slightly thicker than you would with a wash, and just paint it into the recesses, and then blend it out so you get a smooth transition. Remember that this is your shade, so apply it any areas that are dark, or would accumulate rust. You will need to do this a few times. </div><div align="left"> Now, get a 50/50 mix of devlan mud and scorched brown, water it down just a tiny bit, and apply it to all the metal areas like a wash. It’s thick enough for you to be able to push the paint around and move it into the areas you want, kind of like blending. <br />
When doing metallics, to achieve a realistic effect, you have to create the impression of reflections. When you look at some metals, even something like a kitchen knife, you’ll notice alternating areas of light and dark that vary depending on the shape of the metal. Although, you don’t actually have to know how the object you’re painting will reflect the light, instead, just put light and shade in areas that look interesting. For example, on the axe head: I had the light coming from the top of the model, so I shaded downwards. But on the actual blade, I shaded in the opposite direction, just because it looks more “shiney” that way. </div><div align="left"><br />

</span></div><div align="left" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div align="left" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> Object source lighting is where there is a source of light on/near the model that is in addition to the normal "daylight" or somesuch that is doing the normal highlights/shadows on your model. For example, a model holding a flaming torch, would have his normal areas of light and shadow, but also some fiery light shining on him from the torch. Because of this, when doing OSL, paint your model up as you normally would, and the OSL should be one on the last things you paint, because this is a source of light in </span></span><i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">addition</span></span></i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> to the normal light that it would experience, and the effects can simply be painted on top of what’s already there.</span></span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> So, here's the mini I’ll be demonstrating on: he's almost complete except for the base and the glowing bit on the plasma pistol, and he's been painted as I would any other model.</span></span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

</span></div><div align="left" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div align="left" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> Okay, so on this guy, the plasma pistol is glowing with power, and this is where the light is coming from. But this tutorial can apply to any object that emits light: torches, warpstone, magical runes etc.</span></span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> The intensity of the light decreases the further away from the source it gets. So the areas close to the source will be painted in the brightest colours, and the areas further away with the darkest, in the same way that you do your normal highlights/shade, except with colour, and in the direction of the light source.</span></span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> You can pretty much choose any bright colours to do OSL with, they’re all good. Just don’t use dark colours like regal blue, and especially nothing like brown or anything. This is because if you shine a light on something, it gets brighter. So if you paint the surface with dark colours, it will get darker and not look like light at all. </span></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> For this guy, I chose some green/blue colours. Hawk turquoise was my darkest colour, and for all the brighter tones, I added scorpion green and a little bit of skull white in increasing amounts. Whatever colour you choose; just make sure you have darker and lighter shades of it. For example, if you were to do fire as an OSL, use blood red as the darkest, orange as midtone, and yellow or white as the brightest.</span></span></div><div align="center" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i><span style="font-family: inherit;">PAINTING</span></i></span></div><div align="left" style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><i><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></i></span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><b><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Step 1</span></span></b></div><div style="line-height: 115%; margin-bottom: 0.35cm; orphans: 0; widows: 0;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"> Start with the darkest colour first. Get a very watered down mix of it, almost a glaze, and apply it smoothly on all of the areas that will be touched by the light. This is because it needs to be a bit see-through, so you can still see the colours underneath. By using very thin paints, it will look smooth just like real light should. You will need two or 3 coats to get a strong colour.</span></span></div><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

Okay so i decided i needed a proper playing field for my Warhammer games and i thought i would take you all on a journey of how i did it. <br />
<br />
It was really quite easy and only basic tools knowledge (and safety) is needed. <br />
<br />
All up the cost was about <b>$100 AUD</b><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<b> Step 1 - The main ingredients</b><br />
<br />
I headed to Bunnings (mass workshop/tools/everything shop in Aus) and purchased 2x 1800x600mm MDF boards (thickness was about 19mm) <br />
<br />
This size works out for the standard 6x4 tables when both MDF are next to each other <br />
<br />
I bought 2 for these reasons <br />
1) Easier to fit it in my car if wanting to transport <br />
2) Can have 3 different combinations by turning and flipping<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNlfUAeh-axgMlNokS4T-VXOBisqf3Y8x0Ac97oJF7P7m-S7sQg0ww5pS5J4FjCPZNtIqd7z0vcshuzsvSar8BxJee4G2jgZl6ODdJrLnoBaaDyr1tNR9gHzp5yq4nRSUGozOOUtl_1rE/s1600/0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNlfUAeh-axgMlNokS4T-VXOBisqf3Y8x0Ac97oJF7P7m-S7sQg0ww5pS5J4FjCPZNtIqd7z0vcshuzsvSar8BxJee4G2jgZl6ODdJrLnoBaaDyr1tNR9gHzp5yq4nRSUGozOOUtl_1rE/s400/0.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I also purchased 4x 1800 x 40mm planks of wood to brace the board. I did this because people worry about warping, whilst i didnt care, i felt reinforcing the boards made sense for wear and tear <br />
<br />
After fixing the supports using screws, this is what i had (x2)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2-xBcl8GJZXzaUwBYUn8Y1b4zuHjDlpPReSIjxsknLbpiBRI9LTjVFcocpf-c1BDeEI3I4faE0lZdVZK2VislPrMS6yYHj0c65acXNjHegwbrb4zP8rd8SSZvkrFDWyUIO2EIkt20AuI/s1600/5181590146_c8a8811e78.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2-xBcl8GJZXzaUwBYUn8Y1b4zuHjDlpPReSIjxsknLbpiBRI9LTjVFcocpf-c1BDeEI3I4faE0lZdVZK2VislPrMS6yYHj0c65acXNjHegwbrb4zP8rd8SSZvkrFDWyUIO2EIkt20AuI/s400/5181590146_c8a8811e78.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<b><br />
</b><br />
<b><br />
</b><br />
<b>Step 2 - Shaping the board</b><b><br />
</b><br />
<br />
I then went and purchased some wood glue and PVA glue. <br />
After this, i scavaged my parents house for some pine bark pieces and nabbed some polystyrene from work. <br />
<br />
I pencilled onto the board the rough shapes i wanted for my mountains and proceeded to cut the polystyrene with a box cutter (safety warning ). I then stuck on the main ROUGH shape with the wood glue and weighed as much as i could down with random stuff<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtNZuVA5TouQP_uIsF9mEgChk4jISneHo3dEhQLtVjvwDzuOU_c1dm5BM548OXqiO9LZ1OR25ZLz4b3rHQnPZnkFtBmlAijYliB9kImumKUwVRtQF-Y-_2Yre8bvp2Z6bbHX0UvMm9ofA/s1600/5181590594_4df70b20be.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtNZuVA5TouQP_uIsF9mEgChk4jISneHo3dEhQLtVjvwDzuOU_c1dm5BM548OXqiO9LZ1OR25ZLz4b3rHQnPZnkFtBmlAijYliB9kImumKUwVRtQF-Y-_2Yre8bvp2Z6bbHX0UvMm9ofA/s400/5181590594_4df70b20be.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Step 3 - Filling in those mountains</b><br />
<br />
I bought some plaster filler (see pic) and pasted the gunk into the holes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfrwRYhz_atc8QBRS86inPTPWyvqDaml4VxC3nfhvOYpZStMbG_v53GurGD7yaxTXLhoadaYWUY9EA8z-kl1i8cKv33YnMJHDjLbMiLVSQfL6yBDDw6DKtyAP7o2ZbDwbn8Dq6lR7FdFU/s1600/5181591322_ac4ff055b8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfrwRYhz_atc8QBRS86inPTPWyvqDaml4VxC3nfhvOYpZStMbG_v53GurGD7yaxTXLhoadaYWUY9EA8z-kl1i8cKv33YnMJHDjLbMiLVSQfL6yBDDw6DKtyAP7o2ZbDwbn8Dq6lR7FdFU/s400/5181591322_ac4ff055b8.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwdhEI7gMdzUpU7rvV0piMdf4yos3m5B1MBJjjL00pzpp0YvBK47sGW0dQNo6HxVEWIbJEweVVdCEBoSf159f51hvUfUVJkXcY9RrN2gfHW73ZXKYLFv2rzmwKQtxUaPcJIxkkepWJD30/s1600/5180991557_0366f243d8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwdhEI7gMdzUpU7rvV0piMdf4yos3m5B1MBJjjL00pzpp0YvBK47sGW0dQNo6HxVEWIbJEweVVdCEBoSf159f51hvUfUVJkXcY9RrN2gfHW73ZXKYLFv2rzmwKQtxUaPcJIxkkepWJD30/s400/5180991557_0366f243d8.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Note: This probably was the most tedious part, if i can make a recommendation it would be to not have such big polystyrene gaps. But this just meant a couple of coats were needed<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Step 4 - Smooth it out!</b><br />
<br />
This is the only step i didnt have a pic for, but its pretty easy. <br />
<br />
Grab an electric sander (you can do it manual with a block...but good luck ). Run it over a few times to smooth out any rough plaster edges. <br />
<br />
Note: I sanded, then replastered a few gaps, then resanded again.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Step 5 - Getting your Texture (Beach) on!</b><br />
<br />
Okay this is what makes any good board look that bit extra...the texturing. I used sand from a beach around where i live, however you people not as fortunate can go buy some. <br />
<br />
I filled a container with 50% PVA and 50% water and then worked on about 1/5 of the board at a time. <br />
Using a brush, spread the mix, then add the sand. Give it a generous amount and pat it down a little bit.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF-5F8GRPi7cgdA6M1KozT5_3sqfZcb0HDxKYVcdFjlofWRQRhZpvnf6jxniEmzkK86rwcFC9rsB-LhjA5SSRpOxHWRI4fMYe24lE0lLv1xu04SEqtvfxg8J54REvfShE-F9n-7oqXSlY/s1600/5180989467_4f95787f79.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF-5F8GRPi7cgdA6M1KozT5_3sqfZcb0HDxKYVcdFjlofWRQRhZpvnf6jxniEmzkK86rwcFC9rsB-LhjA5SSRpOxHWRI4fMYe24lE0lLv1xu04SEqtvfxg8J54REvfShE-F9n-7oqXSlY/s400/5180989467_4f95787f79.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Leave to dry for overnight and then stand the boards up and let the sand fall off.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzpIVxCksOQhEsPyYWNMnGe_IretJt0AaryVbVK8v2OnOJlUoINvOPeTuiC6EDDvrjyCxmn8EnQUc-9wZ14zwSWvFMNuE_PoopLgMU5c43KJI19ACiBCWAKJ4vqRnX-SPoamvN4KRQwU/s1600/5180989467_4f95787f79.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzpIVxCksOQhEsPyYWNMnGe_IretJt0AaryVbVK8v2OnOJlUoINvOPeTuiC6EDDvrjyCxmn8EnQUc-9wZ14zwSWvFMNuE_PoopLgMU5c43KJI19ACiBCWAKJ4vqRnX-SPoamvN4KRQwU/s400/5180989467_4f95787f79.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Grab a brush and brush off any other sand that isnt stuck. <br />
<br />
I then fixed the holes i missed and repeated the process the next day.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Step 6 - Paint time</b><br />
<br />
<br />
Okay, i then got some black spraypaint and proceeded to basically undercoat everything. You dont need to make the hole thing jet black, just a nice messy overcoat on the already stuck sand. <br />
<br />
The PVA you spread on before will protect the polystyrene from melting. <br />
<br />
I then used the following 3 colours (not sure of the names...dark brown, lighter brown, whiteish brown - you get the idea ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNg0babTzOT1PhuY0_BJtVxbTXBBbgJu3pDW-YatOv-XmJGOyNHAu3Yv7eWDOMFxNZHvRWgjAFwVhwNw6KYoAOxRZAmS92OmBUvWuadZen_oDvjJE7bJbjTRyvuR86HrWMa9eweTOBHlk/s1600/5181589540_546f4bee9a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNg0babTzOT1PhuY0_BJtVxbTXBBbgJu3pDW-YatOv-XmJGOyNHAu3Yv7eWDOMFxNZHvRWgjAFwVhwNw6KYoAOxRZAmS92OmBUvWuadZen_oDvjJE7bJbjTRyvuR86HrWMa9eweTOBHlk/s400/5181589540_546f4bee9a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
Below is a pic of 1 half done with a few test drybrushes...also note that i sprayed the mountains on the right 1st, then went over the whole board with a light coat of spray black<br />

<b>Step 9 - Future</b><b><br />
</b><br />
<br />
I have some moonscape on order and plan to make additional deserty terrain which i will prob add to this tutorial. <br />
<br />
My missus also came up with the awesome idea of painting tire tracks on the board which i will most likely do as well. Adding to this depending on how much i want to improve it, add static terrain features (dead marines, helmets etc) <br />
<br />
I hope you enjoy this tutorial and if you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span lang="en-US">Today I want to show you an easy way to get scratches on your model. This technique is very old, but I never saw it on gaming miniatures. Additionally this tutorial starts the striking3agle blog and a series on weathering called Dirty Winter.</span></div><br />

</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span lang="en-US">What we need:<br />
・ Hairspray. I have experience with L'Oreal Studio and Taft (the former is better). I haven't used cheap “no-name” hairsprays so I don't know if it's a good idea to use them.<br />
・ Some kind of saucer or plastic mug<br />
・ A toothpick, needle, GW stippling brush or a warhammer scale plastic sword <br />
・ An airbrush, a brush and paints (your model's armor color and black and red to make the rust effect)</span><span lang="en-US"></span></div><ul><li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"></div></li>
</ul><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span lang="en-US"><b>Step I</b></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXR8Y8lodYq5fCpG500EagF9gon9UcO8J8EdRn_b81xM0m4PMwfp7raX64fjeYi7g0uqWIf__BWpCQpndZ5faP0FimzScuwxgpRKRmGMuZuQsfWUd-8Zy6FdMsXubTyazxyPfLmBy7e24/s1600/IMG_1884.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXR8Y8lodYq5fCpG500EagF9gon9UcO8J8EdRn_b81xM0m4PMwfp7raX64fjeYi7g0uqWIf__BWpCQpndZ5faP0FimzScuwxgpRKRmGMuZuQsfWUd-8Zy6FdMsXubTyazxyPfLmBy7e24/s320/IMG_1884.JPG" width="223" /></a></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span lang="en-US"><br />
Apply a black base coat on the model (cleaned and without mold lines). When it is dry, apply a few layers of red paint (I used three). If you want to get more realistic effects just use additional brown or orange paint (Vallejo Air 71080 Rust paint is really helpful). <br />
Wait couple of hours, the base coat must be dry.<br />
Now it's time for hairspray. Spray it (from a distance of 5-10 cm, we want to make it fluid) into a saucer or a plastic mug. Do not use it straight from the can because you can flood the details. Next use your brush (or airbrush if you're painting a tank for example) to apply the liquid hairspray on the model. It is very similar to painting with normal paints, layers should be flat and it is better to make many thin layers than one thick. It dries fast so you must do it quickly. When the hairspray is on the model, wait 10-15 min before the next step (the layer must by dry for sure). <br />
The size and depth of the scratches depends on the number of hairspray layers.<br />
<br />
Box – 1 layer<br />
Shield – 2 layers<br />
Metal plate – 3 layers<br />
</span><span lang="en-US"></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span lang="en-US"><strong>Step II</strong><br />
It is very important to use an airbrush in this step. Wet brush just destroys the hairspray layer (water melts the hairspray and the brush just scrapes it off). Naturally add water to the paint when you use the airbrush, just be sure you apply the next later of paint on a dry area, wait minimum 30 minutes before adding a new layer. <br />
When you get the right color, wait a couple of hours (again) to make sure it is dry. Then you can for example do black lining or highlights on the edges. Remember to be gentle.</span><span lang="en-US"><b> <br />

Apply water (like normal paint – small scratches or like a thick wash – big scratches), wait about 10-20 seconds so the water can soak in across the paint to the hairspray layer and in the end use your scratching tool, scratch gently, hit or slap the model . The stronger the force or the bigger the tool's ending you use – the bigger scratches you get. Remember that you must be careful because it is very easy to make too big a scratch. The secret of this technique is the water melting the hairspray layer, which makes it is easy to remove (with paint layers on it).<br />
